There are more than a thousand bars to be found in Benidorm but if there is one area that attracts almost all British visitors at some point during their stay it's the infamous Avenida de Mallorca in the New Town.
The popular bars within this stretch include the Café de Benidorm, the Bahamas, Beachcombers, the Hippodrome, Lennon's, Champions, Chaplins and Sinatras. Others in this area worth a mention are Jokers (Avenida Filipinas) and The Shamrock Bar (Calle Girona). And all of these are described in our bar and club list.
Benidorm is now internationally recognised as a clubbing mecca and for this reason it is able to attract some of the UK's top disc jockeys. The town is now considered second only to Ibiza as the Mediterranean's top clubbing destination. Penélope on the Levante beachfront is one of the trendiest places to dance the night away while the Hippodrome and Bahamas in the Square (Avenida de Mallorca) are packed to the brim during the Summer months.
Serious clubbers, however, should head to the main Alicante-Valencia road, just on the outskirts of town, to visit the the famous KM club and Boulevard, two clubs that attract some of Spain's top DJs.
When it comes to prices you can get away with a small budget on a night out. Then again, if you're heading to some of the more upmarket bars then you'll find the prices quite a lot steeper. It pays to dance a lot - therefore!
As a general rule, a pint of good Spanish lager varies from as little as 80 cents to as much as "4 whilst spirits will range from €1.50 for local brands to €5 for foreign ones. These are usually very large measures though so you have to be careful and control your intake!
